Infrastructure requirements
This section describes the hardware and software requirements for working with TRON.ASOC. It consists of two parts:
- User workstation—the computer specifications for accessing the system's web interface;
- Server infrastructure—the server or virtual machine specifications for running TRON.ASOC.
User workstation
The user's workstation must meet the following specifications to work correctly with the TRON.ASOC web interface.
| Specification | Minimum value | Recommended value |
|---|---|---|
| Number of cores | 2 cores | 2 cores or more |
| RAM | 4 GB | 8 GB or more |
| Hard drive | 1 GB of free space | 4 GB; an SSD is recommended for better performance |
| Network connection | 100 Mbps | 1 Gbps |
| Operating system | Windows 10 or later; macOS 10.14 or later; modern Linux distributions that support current browser versions | — |
| Browser | Chromium-compatible browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari) and Mozilla Firefox | — |
Server infrastructure
This section describes the requirements for the server or virtual machine that runs TRON.ASOC. Select a configuration based on the expected volume of stored incidents.
Main specifications
| Parameter | Basic | Advanced | Custom ² |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stored incidents | Up to 500,000 | Up to 1,000,000 | More than 1,000,000 |
| Number of cores | 8 | 16 | On request |
| RAM | 16 GB | 48 GB | On request |
| Storage drive ¹ | 60 GB | 80 GB | 80 GB + 1 GB per 50,000 incidents |
| Network bandwidth | 100 Mbps | 100 Mbps | 100 Mbps |
| Operating system | Windows or Unix | Windows or Unix | Windows or Unix |
| Container orchestration | Docker Compose or Kubernetes | Docker Compose or Kubernetes | Docker Compose or Kubernetes |
Processing speed—up to 100,000 incidents per minute.
¹ The specified storage capacities include:
- space for containers and system software (~5–10 GB),
- databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MinIO) based on the incident retention period,
- database backups.
You don't need to allocate a separate disk for the databases—they're already included in the total capacity.
² Custom configuration. To calculate specifications for a custom configuration, contact support.
Calculating database storage space
TRON.ASOC uses three databases:
- PostgreSQL—stores the system's main entities;
- ClickHouse—stores security issues and the change history for vulnerabilities;
- MinIO—stores files in custom project fields and user reports (average file size: 50 MB).
The following table provides approximate volumes for each database based on the configuration.
Database volume for 1 month of retention
| Database | Basic | Advanced | Custom |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostgreSQL | 4–5 GB | 8–10 GB | 10 GB+ |
| ClickHouse | 8–10 GB | 16–20 GB | 20 GB+ |
| MinIO | 5–6 GB | 10–12 GB | 12 GB+ |
| Total | 17–21 GB | 34–42 GB | 42 GB+ |
Database backups
Allocate additional disk space for database backups and recovery. The recommended factor is 2x to 3x the total database volume. The backup policy determines the exact factor.
Calculation example for the basic configuration:
| Component | Volume |
|---|---|
| Total database volume (1 month) | ~17–21 GB |
| Backup (2x factor) | ~34–42 GB |
| Total database volume (1 year) | ~210 GB |
| Annual backup (2x factor) | ~420 GB |
Note. The calculations above include only database and backup volumes. They're included in the total storage capacity from the main specifications table, which also accounts for space for containers and system software.
