Infrastructure requirements

This section describes the hardware and software requirements for working with TRON.ASOC. It consists of two parts:

  • User workstation—the specifications for the computer that users use to open the system's web interface;
  • Server infrastructure—the specifications for the server or virtual machine where TRON.ASOC is deployed.

User workstation

To work correctly with the TRON.ASOC web interface, the user workstation must meet the following specifications.

SpecificationMinimum valueRecommended value
Number of cores2 cores2 or more cores
RAM4 GB8 GB or more
Hard drive1 GB of free space4 GB; an SSD is recommended for better performance
Network connection100 Mbps1 Gbps
Operating systemWindows 10 or later; macOS 10.14 or later; modern Linux distributions that support current browser versions—
BrowserChromium-based browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari) and Mozilla Firefox—

Server infrastructure

This section describes the requirements for the server or virtual machine where TRON.ASOC is deployed. Select a configuration based on the expected volume of stored incidents.

Basic specifications

Processing speed—up to 100,000 incidents per minute.

¹ The specified storage capacities include:

  • space for containers and system software (~5–10 GB),
  • databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and MinIO) based on the incident retention period,
  • database backups.

You don't need to allocate a separate disk for the databases—they're already included in the total capacity.

² Custom configuration. Contact Support to calculate the specifications for a custom configuration.

Calculating database storage

TRON.ASOC uses three databases:

  • PostgreSQL—stores the system's core entities;
  • ClickHouse—stores security issues and the change history for vulnerabilities;
  • MinIO—stores files in custom project fields and user reports (the average file size is 50 MB).

The following table provides approximate volumes for each database based on the configuration.

Database volume for 1 month of retention

DatabaseBasicExtendedCustom
PostgreSQL4–5 GB8–10 GB10 GB+
ClickHouse8–10 GB16–20 GB20 GB+
MinIO5–6 GB10–12 GB12 GB+
Total17–21 GB34–42 GB42 GB+

Database backups

Allocate additional storage for database backups and recovery. The recommended factor is x2 to x3 of the total database volume. The exact factor depends on your backup policy.

Calculation example for the basic configuration:

ComponentVolume
Total database volume (1 month)~17–21 GB
Backup (x2 factor)~34–42 GB
Total database volume (1 year)~210 GB
Backup for 1 year (x2 factor)~420 GB

Note. The calculations above include only database and backup volumes. They're included in the total storage capacity in the basic specifications table, which also accounts for space for containers and system software.
